Two Area Events To Kick Off Child Abuse Prevention Month

(Chillicothe) – The Garden Advocacy Family Center will have two kick off events for Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. They will be having a multi-disciplinary team awards breakfast where they will present a series of Children’s Champion Awards to selected individuals from Scioto, Pike, Ross, and Pickaway Counties on Wednesday, April 2 at 8:30am.

These individuals are law enforcement, prosecution, children’s services, medical, and advocates who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to advocate and seek justice for children who have been abused.

The Annual Pinwheels for Prevention Ceremony will be Friday, April 4th at the entrance of Yoctangee Park. The Wellston High School Band there to open the ceremony with the National Anthem and God Bless America. Two 12 foot Pinwheels will be on display, and they are presenting awards to children who are in foster care and participated in an art contest.
