Two Local Men Honored By DAR for Volunteer Service to Veterans

Article Presented By Classic Brands…

(Chillicothe) – The Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have recognized the volunteer efforts of two local men.

Retired Colonel Robert Leach was awarded the Outstanding Veteran Volunteer Award for his dedication to serving veterans in any way possible. Bob has conducted burial services for over 585 Ross County Veterans, organized many service activities and raised funds for our local veterans.

Randy Post, president of the Veterans in Transition Organization was honored with the Outstanding Community Service Award for his unending dedication to caring for our local veterans.  His organization provides food, clothing, household goods, furniture, housing and transportation to the veterans.  No request from a veteran is too small or too large for the VIT.  Much of the care and service is performed by Randy personally and his wife, Jodi.
