Two Statewide Ballot Initiatives Qualify For November General Election

Article Presented By Kingston National Bank…

(Columbus) – Two statewide ballot initiatives have now qualified for the ballot for the November 7th, 2023 General Election, according to Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

A proposed constitutional amendment called, “The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety,” would enshrine abortion in Ohio’s constitution.

“An Act to Control and Regulate Adult Use Cannabis,” would legalize recreational marijuana use and impose a 10% tax on purchases. The Secretary of State announced on August 16th that the initiative had gathered enough signatures to appear on the November ballot.

The next Ohio Ballot Board meeting will be held on Thursday, August 24th to decide the ballot language for the November 7 General Election.
