Unioto Hands Zane Trace First Loss in SVC Baseball Clash

Article Presented By Ross Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau…

The Unioto Shermans scored four runs in the second inning, one in the third, and two runs in the sixth in their 7-1 SVC Baseball win over the Zane Trace Pioneers Tuesday at Unioto High School. The win keeps (4-0/5-3) Unioto unbeaten in the conference while handing ZT their first loss of the season (3-1/7-1).

Unioto pitcher Blake Sanders fired a one-hitter in the contest as the Shermans offense showed their support with eight hits in the game, including solo homers by Ethan Puckett and K.B. Perkins. Jaxson Zickafoose also contributed a two-run double in the victory.

Zane Trace pushed their lone run across the plate in the fourth inning when Landen Jarrell walked, stole second and went to third on a throwing error, later scoring on a Gunnar McCullough fielders choice. The Pioneers lone base hit came on a fifth inning single by Grady Stewart.

Josh Young suffered the pitching loss for the Pioneers.

Unioto had 7 runs on 8 hits, but committed 3 errors. Zane Trace had 1 run on 1 hit and committed 1 error.

Unioto travels to SVC unbeaten Westfall Wednesday 4/16/25.
