
Unioto Hands Zane Trace First Loss in SVC Baseball Clash

The Unioto Shermans scored four runs in the second inning, one in the third, and two runs in the sixth in their 7-1 SVC Baseball win over the Zane Trace Pioneers Tuesday at Unioto High School. The win keeps (4-0/5-3) Unioto unbeaten in the conference while handing ZT their first loss of the season (3-1/7-1).

Unioto pitcher Blake Sanders fired a one-hitter in the contest as the Shermans offense showed their support with eight hits in the game, including solo homers by Ethan Puckett and K.B. Perkins. Jaxson Zickafoose also contributed a two-run double in the victory.
Zane Trace pushed their lone run across the plate in the fourth inning when Landen Jarrell walked, stole second and went to third on a throwing error, later scoring on a Gunnar McCullough fielders choice. The Pioneers lone base hit came on a fifth inning single by Grady Stewart.
Josh Young suffered the pitching loss for the Pioneers.
Unioto had 7 runs on 8 hits, but committed 3 errors. Zane Trace had 1 run on 1 hit and committed 1 error.
Unioto travels to SVC unbeaten Westfall Wednesday 4/16/25.
