Unioto Softball Season Closes With Regional Semi Loss to Dover

Article Presented By Hanes Total Healthcare Center…

Unioto’s Lady Shermans saw their softball 2024 season came to a close Wednesday with a 7-1 loss to Dover in the Division 2 Regional Semis at Pickerington Central High School. The (26-3) Crimson Tornadoes advanced to Friday’s regional championship against (20-8) Logan Elm, who defeated Jonathan Alder 8-5 earlier in the day.

Dover struck first with a one run third inning. In the bottom of the same frame, Unioto evened the score with a solo home run from Hannah Hull at 1-1.

Dover then scored two unanswered runs in the top of the fourth, one run int he fifth and added three more runs in the top of the seventh for the eventual final score of 7-1.

Dover had 7 runs on 10 hits, while the Shermans had only one base hit the entire game, which was Hannah Hull’s solo blast.

The Lady Tanks still had a great season as SVC and district champions.
