(Chillicothe) – The Ross County Health District extends its heartfelt thanks to VFW Post 108 for their generous donation of $5,000 to purchase Christmas gifts for children of Help Me Grow Home Visiting program-enrolled families.
These funds purchased gifts for approximately 110 children, ages infant to five. These gifts have been wrapped and provided to families, some of whom may rely on these presents as the only gifts their children will receive this holiday. The donation was made through proceeds from the VFW slot machines.
Help Me Grow (HMG) Home Visiting is an evidence-based voluntary family support program for pregnant women or new parents that promotes healthy growth and development for babies and young children. HMG home visitors are well-trained professionals who use a nonjudgmental and compassionate approach, giving parents the skills, tools, and confidence to nurture their children’s healthy growth. The parenting education and child development resources provided to families allow them to maximize this critical period of development in their child’s life, providing a foundation for lasting success.
