Vinton County got out to an early lead of 7-2, but the Buckeyes battled back to even the score 11-11, before the Vikings grabbed a 13-11 lead to end the first quarter.

The Vikings took off on a 11-6 run for a 24-17 lead with 4:23 to play on a Garrett Brown three-point shot. NY closed the rest of the first half on a 7-6 run to pull to within 30-24 at intermission.

The third quarter was even at 8-8, as the Vikings took a 38-32 lead into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter saw Vinton County outscore Nelsonville-York 17-12 for the final score win 55-44.

Vinton County was led by Garrett Brown’s 16 points, 11 of which came in the first half. Bradyn Cain added 12 and Cobra Sharp added 10. Ashton Allman had 8 points, Jack Davidson 6 points and Matt Hembree added 3 points.

Nelsonville-York was led by Keagan Swope’s 19 points, Trenton Morrissey added 11, Leighton Loge had 9, James Koska 3 and Landon Inman with 2.
