The (27-1) Washington Blue Lions are Division 2 Baseball Regional Champs, as pitchers Will Miller and AJ Dallmeyer combined for a 6 inning 10-0 no-hitter over Cambridge at Ohio Dominican University, Friday. The win sends the Blue Lions to the State Final 4 at Akron’s Canal Park on June 9th at 1pm. They will face Ontario, who advanced with a 7-3 regional title win over Defiance.
Washington got the hit-parade started early on a 2 run single by Tanner Lemaster in the bottom of the first inning. RJ Fooce made it 3-0 on an RBI single. That would remain the score until the bottom of the fourth inning, when John Wall lifted an RBI sacrifice fly to the outfield for a 4-0 lead.
The 6th inning proved to be the last, as the Blue Lions scored 6 times for the “run-rule” victory of 10-0. An RBI single by Jonah Waters made it 5-0, a bases loaded hit-batsman put WCH up 6-0. A suicide squeeze made it 7-0, followed by another bases loaded hit-batsman for 8-0. The game ended on a two run single past the outfielder for the final margin of victory.
Will Miller worked the first five innings for the win and AJ Dallmeyer mopped up the last inning.
Washington had 10 runs, 11 hits, 1 error. (17-5) Cambridge had 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 error.
The Blue Lions have won 26 straight, with their only loss being to Unioto.
