Water Street & Yoctangee Parkway Roadway Improvements

(Chillicothe) – Starting September 22, 2025, Chillicothe’s Water Street and Yoctangee Parkway will be re-striped to make traffic safer.

The four-lane road will become three lanes: one in each direction plus a middle turn lane. Parking on Water Street’s north side will also change to angled spots, adding more parking downtown.

This change, sometimes called a “road diet,” helps calm and slow down traffic and makes the streets safer for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists.

This conversion was authorized by City Ordinance 21-25, passed by the Chillicothe City Council on April 28, 2025.
