Waverly’s Morrison & Unioto’s Lewis/Welch Are State Bound in Girls Tennis

Three high school girls tennis players from our area are headed to the OHSAA State Tournament at Mason’s Linder Family Tennis Center. Waverly’s Claire Morrison will be joined by Unioto’s doubles team of Margo Lewis and Mackenzie Welch.

Morrison’s district championship tennis run Monday started with a win over Logan Elm 6-0, 6-1. She then defeated Olivia Vessels of Marietta 6-2, 6-2. Morrison then concluded with a 6-2. 6-2 district final victory over Unioto’s Sadie Lamerson .

The Unioto’s doubles team of Margo Lewis and Mackenzie Welch were 6-1, 6-2 vs Circleville then 6-0, 6-0 over Waverly.

The OHSAA State Tournament in Mason, Ohio will be October 16th-17th.
