Teays Valley Wins Logan Elm Invitational

The Vikings tallied 228 points to finish ahead of GlenOak to take the Logan Elm Invitational Saturday. Westfall finished third followed by Logan, host Logan Elm fifth, the Huntington, Miami Trace, Canal Winchester, Adena and McClain to round out the top 10.

Winning individual titles: Teays valley’s Trevor Bridges (113), John Todhunter (120), Colton Maynard (132) and Andrew Liddell (175); Logan’s Blake Coakley (138); Logan Elm’s Nehemiah Hess (144); Miami Trace’s Will Enochs (150); Adena’s Grady Hayden (157) and David Warner (165); Huntington’s Carson McNeal (190); Canal Winchester’s Wendell Dunn (215) and Antoino Felts (285).

Chillicothe places fourth at Steve Yinger Memorial Invitational:

Chillicothe tied Watkins Memorial for fourth place in the 30 team Invitational at Nelsville-York High School Saturday. Other local schools included Nelsonville-York (2nd), River Valley (3rd), Fairfield Union (8th) and Washington (9th) in the top 10.

Winning individual titles: Chillicothe’s Colby Campbell (126) and Cannan Smith (138); Unioto’s Brandon Chapman (113); Gallia Academy’s Evan Warren (144) and Wyatt Warren (157); River Valley’s Budder Manley (190) and Nelsonville-York’s Will Odenthal (285).

McClain Girls place 5th in DeSales Girls Classic:

The McClain Tigers were the top local team finishing 5th at the DeSales Girls Classic Friday.

Lex Burns (120) was the only McClain wrestler to win a weight class.

Lancaster’s Azah Berry won the 135-pound class at the 11 team Lady Rams Tournament at Whitehall Yearling High School.
