Weather canceled the annual John Deno Classic Invitational at Athens High School Saturday. Among the 16 schools unable to participate included: Alexander, Amanda Clearcreek, Athens, Fairfield Union, Vinton County and Wellton
Greenville won the Miami Trace Invitational Saturday. The host Panthers were runners up with Logan Elm third. Also in the top-10, Chillicothe 6th, Adena 8th and McClain 10th. Local individual champions included: Chillicothe’s Quinton Moss (120), Colby Campbell (126), Cannan Smith (138) and Cael Smith (144); Logan Elm’s Ayden Hudson (132); Miami Trace’s Will Enochs (150) and John Queen (175); Adena’s Grady Hayden (157) and David Warner (165).

The Washington Blue Lions won their Bracket Tournament Saturday. Westfall finished 2nd and Huntington 4th of the 22 teams. Individual winners included Washington’s Mason Heidler (106), Jared Rivera (157), Malachi McCullogh (165) and Wesley Gibbs (175); Westfall’s Brady Speakman (126) and Canan VanDine (285); and Huntington’s Gordon Cyrus (138), Carson McNeal (190) and Jackson McNeal (215).

Teays Valley won the Licking Heights Invitational Saturday. Lancaster was 4th among the 16 team field. Three Vikings won individual championships, Trevor Bridges (113), John Todhunter (120) and Josh Zimmer (126). Lancaster’s Andrew Kraft won the 157 class.

Hillsboro finished 13th in the Hammer and Anvil Invitational at Western Brown High School Saturday. Conner HS was the overall winner.

Watkins Memorial finished atop the team standings of the Brown Brothers Girls Varsity Tournament at Jackson High School Sunday. Local teams finishing in the top 10 of the 42 teams: Jackson 3rd, Teays Valley 4th, Wilmington 5th, Western Brown 6th, Alexander 7th, Washington 8th and Huntington 10th.
Individual winners included: Washington’s Leah Marine (105); Huntington’s McKinzee Mills (120); Western Brown’s Emma Kaylor (135); Jackson’s Carolyn Cox (170); Alexander’s Ellie Arnold (190) and Amanda Clearcreek’s Tally Scarberry (235).
