Westfall Edges Circleville for D-2 Girls Sectional Golf Crown

The Westfall Lady Mustangs won the Division 2 Girls Sectional Golf championship at Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course Monday, edging Circleville by one stroke.

Westfall shot a team score of 356 with Circleville second at 357. Southeastern, West Union and Manchester round-out the top five, each advancing to district play next week.

Match medalist honors go to Crooksville’s Riley McKenzie at 75. Other individual district qualifiers not on a qualifying team are: Sydney Ater of Adena (80), Mary Helber of Zane Trace (92), Maggie Armstrong of Piketon (95), and Bryanna Spencer of Piketon (97).

In the Division 2 Sectionals at Portsmouth Elks, Gallia Academy won the team title with a 373, followed by Waterford, Ironton, Portsmouth West and South Webster in the top five to advance to district play.

Valley’s Sidney Jones and Wellston’s Sarah Shea are among the top five individuals, not on a qualifying team, to advance to district action.
