(Columbus) – Heritage Ohio and Ohio’s Hill Country Heritage Area held their 12th Annual Appalachian Heritage Luncheon at the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. The Appalachian Heritage Luncheon, known for highlighting businesses that showcase the unique spirit and resilience of the Appalachian community, recognized several organizations which included the Willis-James Bed & Breakfast for its commitment to preserving the historic home and welcoming guests to Chillicothe and the Appalachian region.
The Willis-James Bed & Breakfast is owned and operated by Drew Musser and Steph Moore. They purchased the federal/classic revival home in 2019 and began renovations in early 2020. These renovations kept the charm of the 19th century home while updates provide guests with modern amenities making it comfortable for visitors to receive an authentic Appalachian experience. Musser and Moore have seamlessly blended modern comfort with historic charm to provide an inviting atmosphere for guests while preserving the region’s traditions.
“We’re very proud to call Steph and Drew partners and commend them for their work and dedication in the restoration of the Willis-James house,” stated Melody Young, Executive Director of the Ross Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Steph and Drew deserve the recognition they received during the luncheon for their efforts in creating the Willis-James Bed & Breakfast and becoming an Appalachian Success Story.”
The Willis-James Bed & Breakfast is located at 58 W. Fifth Street in downtown Chillicothe. Its proximity to downtown provides guests the opportunity to stroll to the revitalized area that showcases an array of historical architecture that houses unique local shops and restaurants that add to their guests’ authentic experience.
