Zane Trace 7th Grader Plays in Winter Softball Championship in Florida

A local softball player recently participated in the National All State Softball Championship at the Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Florida over the Christmas-New Year’s Holiday.
Kali Ward, the daughter of Zach and Lacey Ward, was placed on a team with other girls in the 12U Open Division from the states of Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, and Ohio. Her team, known as “Santa’s Little Helpers”, were coached by 2024 USA Olympic Softball Player Ally Carda. The team ended the tournament as runner-up in the 12U division with a (6-1) record.

Her mother, Lacey Ward says, “Kali has been playing softball for six years and has played travel softball for the last 2 1/2 years. “She was selected by the coach of the team she was on last spring to participate in the All State Showcase held in Marion Ohio in August. Once she participated in that she was then selected to participate in the National All State Championship.”
