Zane Trace CC Invitational Features Hundreds of Runners

Zane Trace’s Marie Souther placed first among 124 girls high school runners at the “Agony Hill” Zane Trace Cross Country Invitational Meet, Saturday.

Souther’s winning time of 20:35.73 was more than one minute ahead of runner-up Alana McKenzie of Chillicothe at 21:40.30. In fact, another local runner, Caitlyn Shipley of Westfall, placed third in a time of 21:44.04. Westerville South won the girls team title with Cedarville as runner-up.

The boys top two team finish went to the same two schools. The highest local individual finishes went to Adena’s Ryan Richendollar with a runner-up time of 16:56.73 and third place to Vinton County’s Samuel Boyd at 17:55.38. There were 193 runners in the high school boys meet.
