Zane Trace Clinches 12th SVC Title In Win Over Adena

The Pioneers of Zane Trace ran their SVC unbeaten record to (12-0) and clinch no worse than a share of the SVC boys basketball crown with a 52-40 win over Adena. (10-2) Paint Valley stayed in the race for a share with a 65-31 win over Piketon.
This is the second straight SVC boys basketball championship for the Pioneers and 12th in school history.
The Warriors stayed close and even had a 36-35 lead early in the fourth period, before the Pioneers 14-0 scoring run put the game away in the victory column.
Zane Trace led at the end of every stop, 12-8, 27-22 at half, 35-33, then the final of 52-40.
Nalin Robinson led the Pioneers scoring effort with 16 points, Xzander Ream had 14, followed by Landon Robinson’s 7, Brock Jarrell 6, Landen Jarrell 5, and Kyle Stonerock with 4.
Adena was led in scoring by Joedy Ater’s 21 points, Lucas King 6, Bryson Smith and Andrew Vickers each with 4 points, Caleb Osborne 3, and Easton Henness with 2.
(12-0/16-3) Zane Trace can win the title outright with either a win or a (10-2) Paint Valley loss over the final two conference games. Zane Trace plays Southeastern on Tuesday and Paint Valley faces (3-9/5-14) Adena.
