Zane Trace Hires New Football Coach

The Zane Trace Pioneers have a new head football coach with the hiring of Dylan Wears, who fills the vacancy left by the resignation of Heath Hinton.

The Pioneers are coming off an SVC championship season in 2022, going unbeaten in the season until falling in week two of the playoffs.

Wears most recently was head coach at Triad High School of the Ohio Heritage Conference, where he had a record of (11-20) over three seasons, before resigning in December of 2022. Triad did make the OHSAA Playoffs in his final season, losing to West Liberty Salem.

Wears is an East Knox High School graduate, and later played football at Ohio University, where he was a walk-on running back under Bobcats coach Frank Solich.
