Legion Region V Tourney Day 1 Results

The first three games of the American Legion Region V Baseball Tournament completed the first round with wins by Chillicothe Post 757, Hillsboro Post 129 and Yeager Post 199 out of Cincinnati. 

Hillsboro earned an 8-3 win over Waverly in the opener, but fell to post Chillicothe 12-2. Reid Mengerink pitched a complete game for Post 757 scattering 7 hits. Offensively, Kody Haubeil, Jacob Lenox and Lane Larson combined for 8 rbi to propel Chillicothe to thee next round with Yeager Post 199 Tuesday. The  Cincinnati Post scored an 11-2 victory over Portsmouth.

Portsmouth 23 and Waverly 142 will meet in the first game to see who fights their way through the loser’s bracket. Game time is 10am Tuesday. Hillsboro 129 awaits the winner at 4pm. The game follows a 1pm battle between Chillicothe and Cincinnati.
