
Casey McFadden Receives Bowl of Hygeia Award

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announced that Casey McFadden RPh, BA/BS in pharmacy of Bainbridge, Ohio is the 2026 recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia Award. Sponsored by NASPA and the APhA Foundation, the Bowl of Hygeia Award honors pharmacists who have contributed to the progress of their communities. The award was presented at the OPA 148th Annual Conference held April 9-11 in Columbus, Ohio.
Casey McFadden is a pharmacist and the owner of McFadden Pharmacy, a locally owned community/retail pharmacy located at 115 E Main St in Bainbridge. McFadden has been recognized for his pharmacy’s role in supporting the Bainbridge area, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an independent pharmacist, he kept the business open as an essential service, fielded health questions from customers when doctor access was limited, and made himself available via cell phone for consultations. He has been active in professional advocacy, providing proponent testimony to the Ohio House Insurance Committee in 2024 on pharmacy-related legislation, such as bills addressing pharmacy benefit managers and other industry issues. McFadden goes “above and beyond” to serve the community. In addition to his professional service, McFadden is also an active supporter for numerous community organizations serving senior citizens, schools, youth athletics and recreation, and his church. Examples of support include promotion of school supply donation drives to help local children prepare for the school year, being a founder of Irons Sharpens Iron Men’s breakfast which is a monthly men’s breakfast in Bainbridge, serving as one of the elders of his church, Acts Believe Church and on the Board for “Created 4 More”, a non-profit ministry designed to break down the walls of church’s and create events to bring everyone together to worship.

Casey’s outstanding community service is an excellent example of working for a change,” said Sara Kilpatrick, OPA Chief Executive Officer.
OPA, established in 1879, represents more than 5,000 pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists throughout the state. OPA’s mission is to invest in and empower Ohio pharmacists in every setting as the medication expert.
