Ross County Sheriff George Lavender. Dan Ramey/Litter Media

Ross Sheriff Warns of Phone Scam

Presented by McDonald’s, I’m Lovin’ It!

Sheriff George Lavender is warning Ross County citizens of a phone scam.

Lavender noted on the department’s Facebook Page, “the caller states that he is Sergeant Rodrigues with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office and asked to speak to Mr. xxx xxxx regarding a legal matter.”

The Sheriff advises there’s no one on his staff by that name and urges citizens to call his office with any such suspicious calls and information.

“Continue to be vigilant and do not give any personal information over the phone.”

The number for the Ross County Sheriff’s Office is 740-773-1185.
