Three Remain in Hunt for Region V American Legion Baseball Title

Presented by Hometown-Motors, Inc.

Yeager-Benson Post 199 remains unbeaten through the first two days of the American Legion Region V Baseball Tournament being played at VA Memorial Stadium this week.

Post 199 managed a 4-2 victory handing Chillicothe Post 757 its first loss in the double elimination format.

The Colts were limited to just five hits in the contest with Cam Farley and Kaden Riffe reaching on doubles. Carter Glandon, D.C. Dailey and Michael Lashuck had singles, with Lashuck driving in a run. Kyle Wingo scattered seven hits in his first start of the season, allowing three earned runs. Max Brooks and Nick Burns held Cincinnati in check the rest of the game.

Post 199 awaits Wednesday’s winner between Chillicothe and Waverly Post 142. Those two will meet at 2pm.

Waverly eliminated Hillsboro Post 129 in a 6-4 decision after 142 had ousted Portsmouth Post 23 Tuesday morning 12-1.

A win by Cincinnati at 5pm will end the tourney Wednesday evening. Either Chillicothe or Waverly will need to beat Cincinnati twice to win the right to advance as Regional Champ. If necessary, a deciding game will take place Thursday at 12pm.
