(Girls Scouts Press Release) – Embarking on a mission to unlock the potential within every bite, Girl Scouts across Central Ohio are launching the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie program January 5th. The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls.

“The Girl Scout Cookie Program is not just about delicious treats; it’s a movement to nurture the next generation of women entrepreneurs and leaders,” said Tammy Wharton, president and CEO, Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland (GSOH). “With every cookie sold, we’re fueling courage, confidence, and character—building a future where every girl can rise and thrive.”

Local cookie enthusiasts can indulge their sweet tooth while championing the cause by purchasing an array of beloved cookie varieties such as Thin Mints®, Samoas®, Tagalongs®, Do-si-dos®, Adventurefuls®, and more. Every delectable bite supports year-round troop projects and activities, as 100 percent of the net revenue from Girl Scout Cookie sales stays within the community.

Last year, more than 2 million packages of Girl Scout Cookies were purchased in the 30-county GSOH service area across central and southern Ohio. Thin Mints continue to be the most popular flavor.

How to Get Your Cookies

Girl Scout Cookies can be purchased from a registered Girl Scout for $5 per package.

  • Watch for Girl Scouts coming door-to-door in your neighborhood beginning today.
  • If you know a Girl Scout, ask how they are selling cookies via the Digital Cookie® online platform for local delivery.
  • If you don’t know a Girl Scout, visit www.gsoh.org/findcookies to get connected to a local troop online for shipment to your door, or to donate cookies to the military and veterans through the Operation Salute program.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program fosters leadership in girls by engaging them in goal setting, decision making, and teamwork during the sales process. Through this hands-on experience, girls develop communication skills, business ethics, and financial literacy, building confidence and leadership capabilities.

Girl Scouts in grades K–12 can start their journey to fun, friendship, and new experiences by joining the world’s largest entrepreneurial organization for girls at any point in the year. Girls can join and adults can become a volunteer at www.girlscouts.org/join.
