Best of Ross County Art Show Coming To Pump House Center for the Arts

(Chillicothe) – The Pump House Center for the Arts presents “The Best of Ross County”, an exhibition of artwork created by Ross County students, grades 9-12.  The exhibition is open to the Chillicothe High School, Zane Trace, Union-Scioto, Southeastern, Paint Valley, Adena, Huntington, and Pickaway Ross Career and Technical Center.  Eligible work includes oil, acrylic, mixed media, pencil, charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, pen & ink, photography, ceramic, sculpture, printmaking and digital art. Students may enter 2 pieces of art.  

This year’s show is sponsored by the Atomic Credit Union.  Awards will be $150 for Best of Show, $100 for 1st Place, $75 for 2nd Place, and $50 for 3rd Place.  Also, the High School of the Best of Show winner will be awarded $200 for the purchase of art supplies. Eight Honorable Mention awards that include a $25 gift certificate for Hobby Lobby will be given by The Chillicothe Art League.

The exhibition dates are February 1st through the 25th at the Pump House Center for the Arts.  The opening Reception and Awards Presentation will be on Thursday, February 2nd from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Light refreshments will be served.

“The Best of Ross County” is one of our most popular shows which showcases the incredible talent in our area by our High School age students.  The show features 70-80 pieces of art and is free and open to the public.
