Bowling: Lynchburg Clay Takes Tops in Girls D-II Sectional at Shawnee Lanes

High school bowlers returned to Shawnee Lanes in Chillicothe for the Girls D-II Southeast Sectional Tournament Tuesday.

Lynchburg-Clay followed suit from Monday’s Boys performance taking the title by a much wider margin, 237 pins, outscoring New Lexington 3214 to 2977. Gallia Academy placed third and Eastern Brown fourth to advance to next Tuesday’s District Tournament, also at Shawnee Lanes.

Just missing the cut were Vinton County (5th) by 6 pins, Westfall (6th) and McClain (7th).

Individual qualifiers included Westfall’s Abigail Bretthauer and Mustangs teammate Brianna Carter. Vinton County’s Olivia Schroeder and Kinsley Sickles from Logan Elm also advanced.

The D-II Boys and Girls District Tournaments will take place Monday, February 19th, beginning at 11am at Shawnee Lanes.
