(Chillicothe) – In a spirit of collaboration, the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce and the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau are joining forces for a special event. Together, they aim to guide businesses on how to be welcoming while attracting new customers as the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks embarks on its first summer as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Chamber and CVB will host “World Heritage: It’s Everyone’s Business” on Thursday, June 20, 2024 (the first day of summer), at the Yoctangee Park Armory, the site of the future World Heritage Visitors Center in Chillicothe. The session will begin at 10am.

“The world is coming to our doorstep,” said Chamber president and CEO Mike Throne, who will host the event. “We must think about how to welcome our visitors and capitalize on the opportunities that World Heritage brings to Ross County.”

Guest speakers include Melody Young, executive director of the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chris Alford, superintendent of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, and Matt MacLaren, travel and tourism policy director for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.
