Chillicothe Alumnus Paul Francis Returns Home to Play The Majestic July 9

Presented by Atomic Speedway

After nearly three years of trying, Paul Francis will finally get to play in his hometown.

Following graduation from Chillicothe High School, Francis attended The Ohio State University and then found his way to New York City where he now resides.

Francis and three of his friends make up The Paul Francis Quartet who will be featured at The Majestic Theatre July 9th at 7:30pm. The show was originally booked prior to the pandemic in 2019, then was scratched as Ohio shut down its theatres.

Needless to say, for Francis, this is a long time coming.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing a lot of people” Francis told Litter Media. “My parents will be there, hopefully some high school buddies are going to be there, people I grew up with. I’m excited to say the least.”

Other members who make up the ensemble include Andrew Hartman, a guitarist Francis met at Ohio State 25 years ago, Chris Bacas who’s been playing with the band for about 10 years and Michael O’Brien who’s unable to make the trip. Steve Wood will be playing bass in O’Brien’s place.

Francis has made a living playing drums, and doing so for some big names… Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Stevie Wonder, Jose Feliciano, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra to name a few. That’s had Francis pinching himself many times over with such memorable moments.

“I’ve been very fortunate, it’s been a lot of hard work… it’s been a blessing.”

Primarily a jazz quartet, Francis says they’ll play their interpretations of The Beatles from the quartet’s new album “All Your Life”Among the songs, “All My Loving”, “Let ‘Em In”, The Long and Winding Road”, “Something”, “Revolution” and songs that didn’t make the album.

Playing the Majestic has been a dream for Francis since his days at CHS. “I remember seeing The Count Bassie Band there around 1996 and thought, wouldn’t this be cool if I could do it with my own group.”

Floor seats for the concert are $12 and balcony $5.
