(Chillicothe) – The City of Chillicothe has announced a January 4th Open House to unveil and discuss their Choose Chillicothe Final Draft Plan.
Citizens are encouraged to view the Draft Plan between 5pm-7pm at the Ross County Service Center, located at 475 Western Avenue. The meeting is intended for reviewing the plan, sharing your thoughts of the plan and hear from the planning team and talk to the Steering Committee in a casual setting.
“After a year of community-led planning, we are ready to share the final draft comprehensive plan with you! Join us on January 4th at the Choose Chillicothe – Final Draft Plan Review open house. We will be sharing the top priority actions and concept site plans for the Riverside District, Tiffin Property, and Yoctangee Park (south). The City’s Planning Team and members of the Choose Chillicothe Steering Committee will be available to answer questions”, according to a release on the City of Chillicothe Facebook site.

But
This has been done so many times before by several admins. People hiring their hipster
consultant firms to tell the Chillicothe Citizenry what’s best for them.
Meanwhile, shootings around the city, many on our East Side, continue and endanger
everyday people just trying to live peaceful lives.
The drugs, the shootings and the homelessness in this city, has formed a self perpetuating triangle of
decay.
This “Choose Chillicothe” effort (whether private, granted or publicly funded) would have been
better directed towards bolstering our police force.
I would much rather hear an announcement of how we are going to use already granted State money, amongst other grants, to recruit new officers, more detectives and a dedicated drug enforcement police unit to turn our city away from being a drug abusing homeless destination and violent firing range.
