After struggling over the past couple of weeks, the Westfall Mustangs rallied when they needed for victories in both SVC Boys Golf Matches #7 and #8, to win the SVC League Championship at the Portsmouth Elk’s Club.

The Mustangs fired a Match #7 score of 174 (based on 5th score tiebreaker), then improved to a 171 in Match #8 to lift them to 59 points and the SVC Championship.

Runner-up Unioto lost their one point lead heading into the final day, placing 4th in Match #7 with a 180 and 2nd in Match #8 with a 173. Unioto concluded with 56 points.

Unioto’s Charlie Lewis won medalist honors in both #7 (Front 9), sharing with Brayden Popp of Southeastern, with 37’s. Lewis won #8 (Back 9) medalist with a 39. Charlie Lewis’ best average score throughout the season also makes him the SVC Player of the Year.
