While Independent candidates still have time to file, Republican and Democrat Party candidates for Chillicothe City Government offices have been set for the 2023 General Election this November. This includes races for Mayor, Council President, City Council, Law Director and Municipal Judge.
There will be no Primary Election in Ross County for 2023. Township office candidates still have time to file for the Fall Election.
Here are the certified candidates for Chillicothe City Candidate Races for November, according to the Ross County Board of Elections website.

What every council candidate, whether At Large or Ward, should be ready to focus on is the updating and reconstruction of our city’s waste treatment plant. Our city’s sewer piping has got to be included in that project as well. The city’s Administration, whether newly elected or incumbent, has got to focus on a City Police chief who is willing to pour everything they have in to recruiting people who are qualified to augment a glaring staffing shortage in our police department.
Collectively, all of us in Chillicothe, have got to rectify, a never before seen influx of crime, criminals, homelessness, drugs and violence that is flowing in to our town from those outside Chillicothe, who see our city as a playground to ply their trade and absorb our generous resources. Boondoggles, such as the “Choose Chillicothe” consultation, are not what Chillicothe needs.We need dispassionate, empirical solutions to our real problems.
Voting is personal, heartfelt and passionate. All of those virtues can cut both ways. My hope is that at this level of government, we do not lose sight of the candidates that are willing to address the non glamorous, municipal problems in an objective way as opposed to the candidates who thrive on wrapping themselves in their virtue signaling, blameless approach to nearly everything.
