(Chillicothe) — Local physician and former Ross County Coroner Dr. John Gabis has been honored as an Ohio 2021 CARES Champion of Recovery.
The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities announced that Dr. Gabis is one of eight people in the state to receive the award.
Penny Dehner, ADAMH Executive Director stated- “We are so delighted to hear Dr. John Gabis was selected for the CARES award as he is also our 2021 Addiction Advocate of the Year. We are working with Dr. Gabis to arrange a date and time for the presentation of the awards.”
Cheri Walter, CEO of the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities noted- “Through offering the CARES Awards, we hope to showcase the tremendous efforts made by frontline people and local leaders to support individuals, families and communities impacted by addiction.”
