The Chillicothe First Capital Rotary Club is planning for a busy warm weather season of activities in 2022, including their Fairway For Friends Golf Outing May 20th. Adena Health System is the banner sponsor for the fundraising event.
First Capital Rotary Club President-Elect Dave Pinkerton was Dan Ramey’s guest on Litter Media LIVE- Special Edition, where he talked about the outing and other events coming up for the club.
In addition to the May golf outing at the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course, First Thursdays return for a 16th year. Each event features live music on East Second Street on stage near the Majestic Theatre, with food served in the Majestic’s green space. Local restaurants compete in the three themed events. The 2022 First Thursday events take place June 2nd for Pizza Fest, July 7th for Wing Fest and August 4th with a Taste of Chillicothe.
Over the years, First Thursdays has brought thousands of visitors downtown for a night of family fun entertainment, but more importantly, dollars.
In 2021, the event returned after missing the previous summer due to the pandemic. Despite a shortened season, First Capital Rotary managed to raise enough funds to award $15,000 to the Majestic Theatre for its remodeling needs in addition to another $15,000 helping other charitable causes locally through the club’s grant cycle process.
