After more than 50 years of service, Haller Funeral Home, Crematory & Monuments is “embarking on a new journey” by announcing they’ve united with St. Petersburg, Florida based Pinnacle Funeral Service.

“The decision wasn’t made lightly” stated in a release by Michael, Matthew and Margaret (Peg) Haller. “We understand the significance of the responsibility we have held in our community. Our primary goal has always been, and continues to be, providing the highest level of service to our families. With this partnership, we can expand our capabilities and resources to better serve you.”

Via text, Michael Haller, President told Litter Media “We partnered with Pinnacle, after almost 2 years of evaluation, because their partnership will insure our legacy, the legacy our parents built, and the legacy of OUR community will continue.”

The release notes four areas of positive aspects of the transition, including expanded resources “This means better services, access to a wider range of options and continuous improvements” to meet consumer needs; enhanced training, allowing staff to benefit from “top-tier industry training, enabling us to continue improving the quality of service”; community focus, “Our commitment to our community will never waver. We will continue to actively participate in local events and contribute to the betterment of our society”.

Perhaps the greatest aspect is the Haller team remains the same. “The team you have come to know and trust will continue to serve you”. The release adds the local staff will remain intact and “will still be here to help you navigate the difficult times with empathy and professionalism.”

Benney and Peg Haller came to Chillicothe in 1971, purchasing the Heiby Funeral Home on South Paint Street. They would later move the business to its current home on Western Avenue. Benny passed away in 2019.

Pinnacle Funeral Services is a funeral home acquisition and management firm. According to its website, Pinnacle often pursues firms “that complement our existing markets or existing states. In addition, we look at other opportunities if we see either the potential for growth or great management.”

“We don’t just buy funeral homes” said Tony Kumming, President of Pinnacle Funeral Services.  “We pride ourselves on partnering only with firms that offer the highest level of service, and are truly committed to their communities.  We knew right away that Haller Funeral Home and the Haller family met that criteria.”

The Haller Family’s release assures the community “This partnership is a step forward. It’s an opportunity for us to better serve you, to enhance our capabilities and to continue the legacy of care that Haller Funeral Home has upheld for so long.”
