The September 16th Handbag Hullabaloo at Chillicothe’s Christopher Conference Center is in it’s final planning stages for a night of fun, prizes and fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House of Central.
The in-person tickets have been sold out at 220 people, but there is still more room for the virtual tickets being sold. Currently there are 90 virtual participants signed up.
Caitlyn Wilcott, Director of Sponsorship & Events for Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, says this is one of four Handbag Hullabaloo events held in Ohio. Others are in Dublin, Powell and Crawford County. All four sites combines raise approximately $300,000 for Ronald McDonald House, with the Ross County event bringing in about $38,000, according to local organizer Jana Detty. They hope to raise $45,000 this year.
The Christopher Conference Center donates the banquet hall space for the event, which has a special tie-in for Christopher Conference Center Banquet Manager Jacki Merritt, whose son Levi was treated for cancer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, when he was younger. Jacki said her family was able to use the services of the Ronald McDonald House during his hospital stay.
