Hillsboro Boys & McClain Girls Brave Bad Weather for FAC Track & Field Championships

Area athletes in the Frontier Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships had to brave a driving rain storm and high winds soon after the running event finals got underway. The end result saw only a few point difference between the championship and runner-up positions.

Hillsboro edged Chillicothe by 1/2 point to win the boys team title 155-154.5. Then came Jackson with 124.5, Miami Trace 99.5, Washington 79.5, and McClain with 38 points.

McClain won the girls championship with 143 points with Chillicothe’s Lady Cavs at 141. Hillsboro was third with 137, Miami Trace 98, Washington 66, and Jackson with 60.

But field events were completed and the rest of the show went on, despite the inclement weather conditions for the first 30-45 minutes of the meet.
