Huntington Girls Win D-3 District Cross Country Title

Huntington’s Lady Huntsmen cross country team won the Division 3 District title at the University of Rio Grande Saturday. West Union, South Webster, North Adams, Belpre, and Eastern Brown also advance to regionals as pack of six teams to advance in D-3. The top 24 D-3 individuals not on a qualifying team, also advance. Samantha Seas of Peebles is the D-3 Girls Individual Champ with a time of 19:44.31.

Rock Hill won the Division 3 Boys District team title, followed by regional team qualifiers Belpre, Waterford, North Adams, Federal Hocking, and Eastern Pike. Landen Eyre of Whiteoak is the D-3 Boys Indiviual Champ in a time of 15:16.18, with Adena’s Ryan Richendollar runner-up.

Girls Division 2 has Athens as the team champion as eight teams in D-2 advance. Teams two through eight also include Fairfield Union, Unioto, Sheridan, Vinton County, Hillsboro, Waverly, and Warren. The D-2 Girls Individual Champ is Sophia Szolosi of Athens in a time of 18:25.66. Unioto’s Cameron Walker is runner-up. The top 32 individuals in D-2 advance to regionals.

The Boys Division 2 champ is Fairfield Union, followed by regional qualifiers Sheridan, Marietta, Unioto, Warren, Vinton County, Westfall, and Athens.
