The 2024 Vinton County Track & Field Invitational saw Jackson’s Boys and Waverly Girls win team titles Thursday. The Ironmen compiled 148 points to easily outdistance runner-up Vinton County, who finished with 98.5 points. The Lady Tigers of Waverly won with 98 points with second place going to River Valley with 88.
The rest of the boys meet field saw Waverly third with 96, River Valley 70 Huntington 60, Meigs 45, Alexander 45, Southeastern 43.5, Notre Dame 33, Wellston 20, and Vinton County’s “B” squad with 1 point.
The rest of the girls teams placed Jackson third with 84, Alexander 66, Vinton County 66, Southeastern 58, Notre Dame 50.5, Huntington 49, Southern 40, Wellston 36, Meigs 12, and Vinton County “B” with 5 points.
