The 2020 Frontier athletic Conference Player of the Year left Chillicothe High School to follow his brother Branden (CHS 2018) to Cedarville University, where they played two seasons together. The older Maughmer has been playing professionally in Europe this season.

Jayvon finished his career with the Yellow Jackets averaging 14.4 points per game, but averaged 19 ppg his last two seasons. He tallied 1,676 points and 465 rebounds during his time at Cedarville over 116 games.
