A total eclipse of the moon will be visible across most of the U.S. on Sunday night, May 15th.

The Earth’s shadow will begin moving over the lunar surface at approximately 10:30pm, fully covering it over the span of an hour.

The moon’s color will begin changing to shades of pink, orange, and red while only getting light traveling through the Earth’s atmosphere; resulting in the nickname of “blood moon” for the event.
