Meet the 2023 Ross County Fair King & Queen Candidates

Twelve candidates will vie for the title of Queen of the 79th Ross County Fair and four candidates will compete for the King’s crown. The contest will be held in the grandstand at the fairgrounds at 8pm this Sunday.

The event wraps up a second full day of activity on the grounds which begins Saturday.

LOOK BACK AT THE 2022 QUEEN, MEREDITH ROBINSON & HER COURT

Among the 2023 Queen Candidates:

Hailey Bane is the 18 year old granddaughter of Matthew and Tamra Clifton. She is a recent graduate of Unioto High School and Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center. She is attending Shawnee State University this fall to major in occupational therapy. She is representing the Blue Ribbon 4-H Club.

Avery Barker is the 18 year old daughter of Bonnie and Jamie Barker of Chillicothe. She is a recent graduate of Southeastern High School and is attending Ohio University this fall to major in communications. She is representing the Jefferson Livestock 4-H Club.

Nora Beery is the 17 year old daughter of Brian and Sadie Beery of Frankfort. She will be a senior at Adena High School and is representing the Ragged Ridge Ramblers 4-H Club.

Rebekah Bennett is the 19 year old daughter of Amanda Jones and Shaun Bennett of Chillicothe. She will be attending Hocking College this fall and is representing the Liberty Gang 4-H Club.

Ryleigh Bode is the 18 year old daughter of Chris Bode and Stephanie Weber of Chillicothe. She is a recent graduate of Unioto High School and Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center and will be attending the University of Dayton to major in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Robotics. She is representing the Boots and Bows 4-H Club.

Olivia Chaney is the 17 year old daughter of Kenny and Ashley Chaney of Kingston, and Keshia and Shaun Raleigh of Grove Port. She will be a senior at Grove Port Madison High School and is representing the American Made 4-H Club.

Elizabeth Doles is the 17 year old daughter of Kimberly Hughes and Timothy Doles of Chillicothe. She will be a senior at Zane Trace High School and is representing the Clover Bees 4-H Club.

Leila Kiser is the 16 year old daughter of Sara Kiser of Chillicothe. She will be a junior at Southeastern High School and is representing the Turnback 4-H Club.

Ellie Ratliff is the 18 year old daughter of Jeff and Michele Ratliff of Chillicothe. She is a recent graduate of Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center and will be attending Ohio University for nursing. She is representing the Seed Planters 4-H Club

Tabitha Thompson is the 17 year old daughter of Rhonda and Mike Thompson of Bainbridge. She is a recent graduate of Paint Valley High School and is planning to major in graphic design. She is representing the Clover Clan 4-H Club.

Lily Weaver is the 16 year old daughter of Jeremy and Ella Weaver of Chillicothe. She will be a junior at Unioto High School and is representing the Jr. Livestock Growers 4-H Club.

Hannah Williamson is the 17 year old daughter of Karen Williamson of Adelphi. She will be a senior at Zane Trace High School and Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center and is representing the Hallsville Friendly Neighbors 4-H Club.

Competing for 2023 King:

Ryan Andrews is the 17 year old son of Tonya and Jason Andrews of Kingston. He will be a senior at Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center and Zane Trace High School and is representing the Walk, Trot, Canter 4-H Club.

Charley Clyne is the 17 year old son of Tim and Laura Clyne of Kingston. He will be a senior at Zane Trace High School and is representing the Walk, Trot, Canter 4-H Club.

Sailor Cope is the 18 year old son of Tanya and Brian Cope of Chillicothe. He is a recent graduate of Pickaway Ross Career Technology Center and Unioto High School. He plans to continue work with Sunrush Construction and is representing the Clever Clovers 4-H Club.

Wyatt Vick is the 17 year old son of Myra and Matt Vick of Chillicothe. He will be a senior at Zane Trace High School and is representing the Walk, Trot, Canter 4-H Club.

The first of the 4-H activities begins this Saturday at 8:30am with the Jr. Fair Dog Show in the Small Animal Show Arena. Meanwhile, it’ll be move-in day for Market and Breeding Animals. There’s also an Antique Tractor Pull at 10am.

Something new for 2023, a Campground Concert at 7pm Saturday featuring Jimmy Mowery and Crush, a Bon Jovi Tribute Band.
