Mental Health Webinars Planned By Ohio Department of Insurance

(Columbus) – The Ohio Department of Insurance’s new Mental Health Insurance Assistance Office is conducting free, live webinars in August to help consumers and healthcare professionals understand the mental health and substance use disorder insurance benefits that may be in a consumer’s health plan, the role insurance may play in receiving treatment, and provide an overview of the new Mental Health Insurance Assistance Office.

During the webinars, department experts will explain how the department regulates mental health and substance use disorder insurance benefits. They will help consumers and healthcare professionals understand how to determine these benefits in a health plan. And they will provide a tutorial about the department’s mental health and substance use disorder insurance benefits information and services, including how to file a complaint and appeal a denied claim.

  • Understanding Mental Health Insurance Benefits for Healthcare Professionals Aug. 23, 12pm–1pm; Register (Geared to behavioral health providers, billing staff, and other administrative professionals)
