Miami Trace Win Over Jackson Keeps Panthers Tied For FAC Lead

The inside strength of the Miami Trace Panthers offense and defense proved to be too much for the Jackson Ironmen, as the Panthers led most of the game in a 59-46 FAC win to remain tied with Washington for the conference lead at (7-1).

Miami Trace got out of the gate quickly for a 6-0 lead, but Max Morrow’s Ironmen came right back to tie the game at 6-6. The Panthers answered with a 7-0 run for a 13-6 lead only to see Jackson finish the quarter on a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 13-11.

The Ironmen took their first lead at 17-16 at the 5:10 mark of the second quarter. After a brief Miami Trace lead of 20-16, Jackson responded with a 4-0 run to tie the game 20-20, but the Panthers went on an 8-0 run for a 24-20 lead at halftime. The Panthers never trailed again, building their largest leads of the contest in the third quarter at 33-22. That lead was 41-31 after three periods, but expanded to 51-38 and later 59-44 before settling for the 59-46 win.

Miami Trace improves to (7-1/14-1) and Jackson drops to (5-3) in FAC play. Washington CH was a 76-50 winner over McClain to remain tied with Miami Trace for the FAC lead. Chillicothe was a 67-63 overtime winner over Hillsboro.
