(Central Ohio) – On December 20, ODOT will cut the ribbon on a new, full-service maintenance facility in Pickaway County.
“Our old facility inside the city of Circleville has served us and the people of Ohio well for many years, but our crews and needs have outgrown it.” said District 6 Deputy Director Toni Turowski. “This new facility will provide our people with the space and resources they need to keep infrastructure in Pickaway County well-maintained for locals as well as through travelers.”
Construction on the new facility began in early 2022 for a cost of $12.5 million, and transfer of materials and equipment to the new location has been ongoing over the last several weeks. With completed installation of utilities and IT services, the new facility is ready to begin operations.
Located at 1476 Progress Parkway, Circleville OH 43113, the new facility includes more yard and covered space for storing salt and other materials, a larger garage with added parking for trucks and vehicles, a heated wash bay, two full-service mechanics bays equipped with vehicle lifts, and improved security features. The new location also provides more direct access to the state highway system without the need for moving large trucks and equipment on city streets, reducing the impact of ODOT operations on local residents.
“In order for our people to provide a transportation system that is safe, accessible, well-maintained, and positioned for the future, we need to equip them with the resources to do so. This new facility reflects ODOT’s commitment to investing in our system and our people.” said Deputy Director Turowski.
