ODOT Seeks Public Input On Road Projects In 4 Southern Ohio Counties

(Chillicothe) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for road projects in Ross, Highland, Adams and Brown counties.

ROS-CR 550-17.12 (PID: 114624) It is proposed to upgrade two intersections on CR 550 in Ross County, Ohio. The project is located in Union Township.

The first location is the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road, Veterans Parkway, and Clinton Road. The westbound right turn lane on C.R. 550 (Pleasant Valley Road) will be extended at the intersection. The traffic signals will also be upgraded at the intersection.

The first location will require approximately 0.184 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along a parking lot and an agricultural field.

The second location is at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road, Egypt Pike, and the U.S. 35 Westbound off ramp. A westbound right turn lane will be added on C.R. 550 (Pleasant Valley Road) at the intersection. The traffic signals will also be upgraded at the intersection.

The second location will require approximately 0.061 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along a recreational field.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. The roadways will be open for the duration of the project.

HIG-SR 138-24.6 (PID: 109576) –It is proposed to replace the structure on S.R. 138 at the 24.60 mile mark in Highland County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Paint Township between S.R. 771 and Duff Road.

The existing structure is a single span concrete slab culvert.

The project will require approximately 0.307 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along a stream channel and agricultural field.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project.

The state detour will be S.R. 138 to S.R. 771 to S.R. 28 to U.S. 62 to S.R. 138. The state detour is approximately 17.3 miles.

ADA-SR 348-12.09 (PID: 91412) – It is proposed to replace the structure on S.R. 348 at the 12.09 mile mark in Adams County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Jefferson Township between Delong Road and Earl Brown Road.

The existing structure is a single span concrete tee beam bridge and was built in 1948.

The project will require approximately 0.049 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along a stream channel and residential lawns.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project.

The state detour will be S.R. 348 to S.R. 781 to S.R. 41 to S.R. 125 to S.R. 348. The state detour is approximately 26.5 miles.

BRO-68-44.12 (PID: 110556) – It is proposed to replace the structure on U.S. 68 at the 44.12 mile mark in Brown County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Perry Township between Morgan Road and Kernan Road.

The existing structure is a three span precast concrete box beam bridge on reinforced concrete substructure on spread footings, and was built in 1932.

The project will require approximately 0.363 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along the forested hillside and agriculture field.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project.  

The state detour will be U.S. 68 to U.S. 50 to S.R. 251 to S.R. 123 to U.S. 68. The state detour is approximately 5.5 miles
