Over 1,500 Brave Weather to Attend 2023 Ross M.A.D.E. Rally

Taking a stance to stay Drug Free

Article Presented By McDonald’s…

An estimated 1,500-2,000 students from ten area schools attended the Ross County M.A.D.E. Rally in Downtown Chillicothe Friday, braving rain with smiles and support for their fellow teens efforts to stay free from substance abuse.

M.A.D.E. is comprised of students who voluntarily submit to random drug testing and receive rewards and perks from local businesses for their efforts in raising awareness among their peers. Their efforts are sponsored by Cincinnati-based Drug Free Clubs of America.

Students gathered in Yoctangee Park, then marched through the downtown to the Ross County Courthouse, where they heard from other students concerning their pledge to stay away from drugs.

The event later saw the students return to the park for activities, before ending the rally.

Funds are raised to support the areas MADE teens through activities like the Buck Fifty held each year, along with other fundraisers and donations.
