The Chillicothe Paints have forced a third and deciding game in the Prospect League Championship Series with a 12-0 throttling of the Quincy Gems Saturday at V.A. Memorial Stadium. Game #3 for the title will be played at 6:05pm Sunday, also at Chillicothe.
After an 18-12 drubbing in Game #1 at Quincy Thursday, the Paints put on a show of their own Saturday, scoring 1 in the first inning, 8 in the second, and 3 in the third inning to provide them all the runs they would need in the run-rule victory in seven innings.
Chillicothe’s pitching was spot-on, as Nick Falter fired a 1-hitter, fanning 7 and walking 2. Victor Figueroa was one of the hitting stars for the Paints as he was 3/4 at the plate with 4 RBI’s and a home run. Cameron Bowen was also 3/4 with 3 RBI’s and 2 doubles.
