In a press release Tuesday morning, the Majestic Theatre announced the resignation of Paul Pollard from the Board of Directors.

The release states “Mr. Pollard has served on the organization’s board for many years and has held the position of Board President for nearly a decade. His resignation from the Board of Directors is to provide him the opportunity to devote more time to his family, especially spending time with his wife and adorable one-year old daughter.”

Pollard told Litter Media via text ” The Majestic Theatre is in great hands. It’s exactly the same team guiding the theatre with me for all these years.”

According to the release, the Majestic Theatre touts its pride for the accomplishments that the theatre achieved under Pollard’s leadership.

“Through his vision and dedication to the organization, the Majestic Theatre attained financial stability, constructed a new addition to provide patrons with a modern lobby and restrooms, designed and installed a professional video streaming and recording system for productions, numerous improvements throughout the facility and courtyard, and oversaw fundraising to successfully provide the required dollar match for the next Capital Bill Grant that will provide air conditioning to the theatre. These are just a few examples of Paul’s efforts and accomplishments during his service at the Majestic Theatre.”

The Board will use the normal succession plan of the organization for filling the vacancy left by Pollard’s departure. “Gene Hoyet, a long-term board member that has been serving the Majestic Theatre for over twenty years and currently serving in the role as Vice President will step into the position of President following Paul’s departure. David Blosser, another long-term member of the Board of Directors, will move into the role of Vice President after serving as past Vice President and currently an at-large position on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Melody Young will continue service in the role of Treasurer along with Gene Betts as Secretary on the Board of Directors. This continuity of leadership will ensure that the Majestic Theatre maintains its stability and momentum towards achieving its long-term goals.”

“The Board of Directors would like to thank Paul for his dedication to the theatre and the progress that was made during his time on the board. The Board looks forward to collaborating with him in future endeavors.” Statement from the Board of Directors.
