Power Restoration Slowed By Extreme Heat

Thousands of southern Ohio electric customers impacted by outages caused by severe storms earlier this week, are seeing their power restoration being slowed- partly because of the current heat wave placing more stress on the electric grid.

As of 2:20pm (6/16/22), electric outages in the area were:
Pike – 780 AEP customers
Ross – 845 AEP customers
Scioto- 5 AEP customers

As of 8am (6/16/22), electric outages in the area were:
Pickaway – 12 AEP customers
Pike – 1,323 AEP customers
Ross – 1,267 AEP customers
Scioto- 300 AEP customers

As of 7:15pm (6/15/22), electric outages in the area were:
Pickaway – 12 AEP customers
Pike – 1,891 AEP customers
Ross – 1,401 AEP customers
Scioto- 1892 AEP customers

As of 11:30am (6/15/22), electric outages in the area were:
Pickaway – 11 AEP customers, 2 South Central Power customers
Pike – 3,000 AEP customers, 49 South Central Power customers
Ross – 1,451 AEP customers, 14 South Central Power customers

American Electric Power is estimating power restoration in the following areas:
Hillsboro – Noon Thursday
Chillicothe – Noon Friday
Lucasville – Noon Friday
Wellston – Noon Friday
