Public Comments Sought For St. Rt. 138 Bridge Deck Replacement in Highland County

(Chillicothe) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge maintenance project on State Route 138 in Highland County. HIG-SR-138-27.24 (PID 87333) It is proposed to rehabilitate the bridge over Rattlesnake Creek on SR 138 in Highland County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area in Madison and Paint Townships of Highland County.

The project will not require new right-of-way. The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The state detour will be SR 138 to SR 28 to SR 771 to SR 138. The state detour is approximately 25.8 miles.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State.

The original environmental document (CE) was approved 9/11/2014. The project is currently expected to be awarded 11/20/23.
