Reynoldsburg Talent Soars in 70-36 Win Over Teays Valley

The Reynoldsburg Raiders have lost six games this season, but their 70-36 dismantling of MSL Buckeye Co-Champ Teays Valley makes it hard to imagine how they lost any. The (19-6) Raiders forced 17 Vikings turnovers, 14 in the first half, with several becoming breakaway slams. Reynoldsburg committed only three turnovers in the game.

Reynoldsburg shot 100% in the first quarter from two point range as they darted to a 21-7 lead and were 65% in the second period as they went into halftime leading 43-16. The Raiders kept building onto that lead for a 60-28 edge after three quarters, then 67-32 with 5:23 remaining in the game turned on the continuous clock for the remainder of the contest.

Reynoldsburg shot 30/59 from the field for 51%, while Teays Valley was 15/37 for 41%.

The Raiders were led by 6’6 junior Jordan Fisher with 19 points, while both Noah Smith and Xavier McKinney each scored 12 points. Five others Reynoldsburg players got into the scoring column. Teays Valley sophomore Brody Fields scored 16 points and senior Sam Miller added 11 points and 8 rebounds.

The Vikings conclude their season as MSL Buckeye co-champs and claimed their first sectional title since 2015.

The MSL’s other co-champ, Bloom Carroll, saw their season end with a 75-53 loss to Watterson in the Division 2 District Semi.
